The Wellington Phoenix continues its ‘Wollongong Appreciation Month’ with another must-watch game at their home at WIN Stadium - this time taking on the Melbourne Victory in a mid-week re-match of their epic February clash.
In that first match, Melbourne surprised an under-manned Wellington side by breaking out their imposing striker Rudy Gestede; the 6’4” French national putting home two headers to stun the visiting Phoenix team 2-0. So it’s fair to say that the Phoenix are looking for payback against this team in March!
Led by one of the most exciting players in the A-League in Ulises Davila, the Phoenix will count on the likes of ex-Premier League striker Tomer Hemed to make a difference in this one, as well as intriguing young Nix players in Mirza Muratovic, James McGarry and Clayton Lewis.
