World Series of Darts’ Wollongong Debut Rescheduled For 2022

The PDC’s World Series of Darts will now arrive in Wollongong for the first time in 2022 at WIN Entertainment Centre.
Due to the ongoing global situation, the decision has been made to move the planned New South Wales Darts Masters back 12 months to be staged on August 19-20 2022.
The sport's top stars, set to include world number one Gerwyn Price and former World Champions Michael van Gerwen and Peter Wright, will take on leading players from Oceania as the PDC's World Series of Darts visits Wollongong for the first time as part of a three-week spectacle of top-class darts action Down Under.
"Due to the ongoing uncertainty regarding international travel, we felt it appropriate to provide clarity on our plans for the World Series of Darts," said PDC Chief Executive Matthew Porter.
"We remain very excited about the PDC’s debut event in Wollongong, and have been highly encouraged by how the planned events have been received by darts fans globally.
"Agreeing dates to stage the events in 2022 gives fans the chance to plan with a greater degree of certainly for what promises to be a fantastic year of World Series events."
The inaugural New South Wales Darts Masters will begin on Friday August 19 2022 with the first round, as the eight PDC representatives take on the eight Oceanic representatives.
The tournament then reaches its climax on Saturday August 20 with the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final.
Tickets purchased for the planned 2020 and 2021 tournaments will be valid for the equivalent session of the new 2022 event, or be eligible for a refund. Ticket holders can get further information from their point of purchase.
